Introduction to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

    August 10 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. (virtually)

This session will introduce Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). MHFA is a national certification course designed to teach the skills to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use disorder crisis, identify community resources, and link individuals in need of treatment and support to the proper resources.

This session will be presented by Mick Lynch, Winona State University | PsyD, LP, CMPC

Mick is a dedicated clinical and sport psychologist who has a passion for what he does. He believes people have the power to change, grow, and flourish and that counseling can help this happen.

He views counseling as a way to not only resolve problems, but also as an avenue to achieve goals, and create a more meaningful, productive, and fulfilling life.

One of Mick’s specialties is working with student-athletes and other non-sport performers. He works with these students to learn how to manage their thoughts and emotions to enhance performance, maximize success, and optimize their experience.

At the conclusion of this introductory session, the Winona Area SHRM board would like to gauge interest from our members to attend the certification course (8 total hours).
