Sample Letter for HR 2587

    Dear Representative Walz:

     

    Subject:  Vote YES on H.R. 2587, the Protecting Jobs from Government Interference Act

     

    As your constituent, a human resource (HR) professional, and one of more than 260,000 members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), I support this legislation. H.R. 2587 would simply amend the National Labor Relations Act to prevent the National Labor Relations Board from ordering an employer to:

     

       1) restore any business operations,

       2) rescind any relocation or transfer, or

       3) make an investment at a particular plant, facility, or location.

     

    At a time when our economy needs jobs, I believe private employers should have every right to create opportunities at locations of their choosing, as long as they comply with both federal law and collective bargaining agreements. H.R. 2587 will help ensure that the NLRB cannot second-guess carefully made and lawful business decisions.

     

    I would appreciate hearing your perspective on this important legislation, and I urge you to support it.
